Designing Domain Specific Software – DSL & Factories

Service Providers are under enormous pressure to create and implement new services quickly and inexpensively.  The service itself must be written and modified to multiple operations systems responsible for order fulfillment, service assurance, and billing.  Software Factories can significantly improve time-to-market and development costs by implementing custom or Domain Specific Language tools that capture key design principles, policies, and/or industry standards and present them as visual tools within the Visual Studio IDE.  The factorization of these design steps significantly reduces the overall application development lifecycle, improves consistency, and allows the developer to focus on actual functions that differentiate their products.

Designing for the SharePoint Platform

In this session, attendees will receive an overview of the tools available for designing sites and workflows.  The session will provide a walkthrough of how to create a workflow with Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer 2007 and apply it to a site.  In addition, the session will also provide an overview of customizing a site to give it a professional look while also applying appropriate branding to the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 site.
